Belle Plaine Historical and Genealogical Society and Museum

In July 1998, The Belle Plaine Historical/Genealogical Society was established with a membership of five people, no money, and two objectives: establish a museum and preserve old photographs. Over the years, the Historical Society has sponsored educational opportunities for school groups; shared information with local organizations; helped fund other historically minded groups.

With the help of supporters, the Historical Society has succeeded in accomplishing our two primary objectives and has plans for so much more.

JP Weigand - Sunni Goentzel

Sunni saw a need in the real estate market and became a licensed agent and in 2013 she joined her mother—Cathy Sheets—in her real estate business. Giving back to the community and taking care of the world around her are important missions in Sunni's life work. The Belle Plaine office opened in 1995 and has full-time real estate agents serving a 100-mile radius. Besides real estate, they can offer auction services as well and are located just minutes south of Wichita. Many of our agents are licensed in Oklahoma as well as Kansas. The agents in this office are proud of their community involvement.

JP Weigand - Julie Gooch

Julie Gooch entered real estate in the spring of 1996 and obtained her broker’s license in 2005, becoming the Associate Broker. Julie’s approach of providing quality, personal attention is one of her great strengths in her real estate career.

Cathy L. Sheets began her real estate career in 1990. Today, she is the branch broker for the Belle Plaine office. Her motto: “Serving people from the heart.”
